VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless is a statewide charitable
organization which works to help alleviate hunger and homelessness by
distributing contributions through grants to Minnesota's food and shelter
providers.
We operate with minimal
overhead expenses under the direction of a volunteer board and eight working
committees. There are three part-time permanent staff persons, volunteers and
interns involved in every aspect of the organization, allowing us to maintain a
low administrative cost.
We are looking for volunteers
with a wide range of interests and talents who are willing to help us continue
to grow as a responsive, responsible organization!
Current
Volunteer Needs:
Board
Meeting Assistant: Volunteer needed to attend
the monthly board meetings of Open Your Heart to the
Hungry and Homeless to take notes. The volunteer
will write the minutes of the meeting using their
home computer or do this work in the Open Your Heart
office. Volunteer must have good writing skills and
word processing skills. The board meets the third
Monday of the month at 5:00pm in downtown St. Paul.
(There is no board meeting in July.) This is a great
way to work with other dedicated volunteers on
hunger and homelessness issues. Volunteer must be
able to attend the board meeting monthly. This
opportunity takes approximately four hours a month.
