Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless is looking for volunteers with a wide range of interests and skills and a passion for alleviating hunger and homelessness to fill a variety of positions. Many positions offer flexible scheduling and the ability to work from home or from our downtown St. Paul office, conveniently located on several bus lines. Training and ongoing support are available for all positions.
Volunteer on a Committee
- Communications Committee: Increases the visibility of Open Your Heart and of hunger and homelessness issues through a wide variety of communications strategies.
- Education Committee: Oversees the distribution of the Education Fund grants.
- Finance Committee: Meets quarterly to oversee the financial aspects of the organization.
- Governance Committee: Develops procedures for recruitment and evaluation of new members of the Board of Directors, and forwards an annual slate of officers for consideration to the Board of Directors.
- Grant Audit Committee: Reviews closeout forms submitted by grantees to ensure that funds were used for the purpose for which they were granted.
- Grant Review Committee: Reviews grant applications from agencies and makes recommendations for funding.
