We are
looking for volunteers with a wide range of interests and talents who are
willing to help us continue to grow as a responsive, responsible organization.
The following are our volunteer opportunities:
Education Committee: Oversees the distribution
of the Education Fund to shelters housing families with children or homeless
youth. This committee is looking for 3 more people.
Finance Committee:
Meets quarterly to make sure all accounting records and
expenses are in check
Fundraising
Committee: Oversees production of fundraising publications and brochures.
Brainstorms ideas for developing strategies for workplace giving, seeking
grants, and other fundraising projects. This
committee is looking for 2-3 more people.
Grant Audit Committee:
Reviews close-out materials submitted by grantees to ensure that OYH funds were
used for the purpose for which they were granted. Seeing pictures of completed
projects and reading the words of gratitude from our grantees makes this task
quite fulfilling!
Grant Review Committee: Reviews incoming grant
applications from agencies and take part in the actual distribution of
funds.
Nominating Committee: Develops
procedures for recruitment and evaluation of new member of
the Open Your Heart Board of Directors, and forwards an
annual slate of officers for consideration by the Open Your
Heart Board of Directors
Technology
Committee: Plans and develops the computer
and telecommunications systems in the office, and provides technical support for
staff.
Website/Branding Committee: Development of new
branding guidelines for Open Your Heart, and implementation
of re-design of the Open Your Heart website
Other Jobs:
Assist
office staff with technical work (e.g., Access
database, website design and development,
networking, etc).
Provide data
entry and word processing to support committee work
Contribute
technical and administrative support to committees
Writers
for website content, press releases, and promotional
material
